Essential Health: Bookkeeper Position

Essential Health Pharmacy Group is expanding. We are recruiting for a Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate must have at least 2 years of relevant working experience and must reside in the Northern Suburbs (Cape Town). 

Duties: 

You will be required to perform the following primary duties:

  • Full accounting function up to Trial Balance;
  • Debtors and Creditors reconciliation;
  • Upload of payments to Bank;
  • Cash book management and review;
  • Reconciliation of general ledger accounts on a monthly basis;
  • Statutory returns (EMP501/EMP201/VAT201) (preparation and submission);
  • Interaction with managers at branch level.

Competencies:

  • Computer Literate MS Office (Excel (intermediate))
  • Accounting Packages (Pastel Accounting and Payroll)
  • SARS e-filing experience
  • Should be able to work independently 
  • Responsible (organise/analyse/prioritise)
  • Strong Work Ethic
  • Not a clock watcher
  • Perform under pressure
  • Accurate and meticulous
  • Resilient 

Minimum requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary education in accounting (a suitable degree/diploma)
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills in English and Afrikaans
  • 2 years working experience
  • Valid driver’s license and own transport
