TB HIV Care (THC), in existence since 1929, is an internationally recognised non-profit organisation. TB HIV Care provides health care services throughout South Africa to both the general population and communities at increased risk for HIV and TB, including adolescent girls and young women, sex workers and people who use drugs. Purpose of the position The purpose of Driver is to transporting community teams and equipment to sites, including related activities such as erecting gazebos, security at testing site, vehicle maintenance, health education, assistance with events and logistics.

Minimum Requirements


• Matric / grade 12

• 2-years driving experience

• Computer literate and the use of Microsoft office package (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook)

• Valid Code: 10 driver’s license driver’s licence with Professional Driving Permit (PDP)

• Basic knowledge on geographical areas in the respective district

• Experience working in a donor funded environment will be advantageous

• Fluency in English and isiZulu languages

• Clear criminal record

Duties and Responsibilities

• Transport ENAs for community screening and testing outreach activities

• Transport event equipment for community outreach

• Deliver materials and/or equipment (PPE, IEC, etc.) to community and health facility team

• Works as part of a multi-disciplinary teams

• Maintains a high standard of professionalism when interacting with clients and health care professionals

• Conducts daily vehicle inspections and reports defects to EN

• Adheres to all safety precautions and road ordinances

• Maintains client confidentiality

• Supports community outreach activities

• Complies with relevant legislation and organization policies and procedures

• Carries out and/or ensures all maintenance is carried out on all vehicles

• Mobilizes clients for teams and acts as marshal to ensure order during community outreach activities

• Reports for duty punctually

• Reports for duty in a presentable manner

• Complies with the Standard Operating Procedures for vehicle

• Other duties may be assigned
