MAIN JOB PURPOSE: Assist with multidisciplinary Instrumentation and Control and SCADA skills to ensure preventive and proactive maintenance and operation of the plant to achieve factory performance targets.
JOB SUMMARY:

Perform routine and emergency repairs of the plant instrumentation, plant PLC control and SCADA systems, plant electrical systems

Fault-finding and problem solving on high speed packaging machinery and process plant
-
Work with PLCs, SCADA and variable speed drives to troubleshoot plant breakdowns
-
Maintain Instrumentation devices (pressure, level, flow, weight, temperature)
-
Ensure instrumentation and electrical drawings are up to date
-
Ensure PLC backups are updated
-
Develop and modify programs for new inhouse instrumentation and controls projects
-
Identify deviations and non-conforming items in the plant
-
Assess exactly what steps to take to rectify these deviations and non-conformances
-
Carry out the work required to an exceptional standard as well as identify any further potential problems that might be visible

Make recommendations for continuous improvements

Raise both Safety and Engineering Tags

Participate in the continuous revision and updating of standards
-
Raise One Point Lessons and cascade these to others across the plant
-
Raise Kaizens that will improve efficiency
-
Ensure that any breakdowns or short stops in area of responsibility are recorded
-
Diagnoses and interprets multi-disciplinary problems (fault finding) to optimize production output and carries out the plant repairs

Ensures that service levels are maintained at the required standards by carrying out all breakdown, preventative and predictive maintenance effectively

Maintenance support for area of responsibility

Assist in and support all projects from an instrumentation, control and electrical perspective that are running in respective area

Develop a control system program from a process PID and process description
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
-
S4 National Diploma in Process instrumentation and Controls OR N6 AND *must be Trade Tested
-
Minimum of 1-year experience in a plant/ FMCG/ Manufacturing or instrumentation field
-
Instrumentation hardware knowledge of flow measurement, temperature, pressure, load cell, and level experience

PLC knowledge and experience, Siemens and Allen Bradley will be an advantage
-
SCADA systems working knowledge and experience

*Must be able to read and understand Instrumentation and electrical Diagrams

Understand and identifying component failure. Experience to independently diagnose and repair will be an advantage
-
Proficient computer literacy, Outlook and Microsoft Office

Problem solving and fault-finding skills
- Good communication and have a willingness to share expertise and transfer knowledge
