Specific key performance areas include the following:

  • Plan and coordinate the daily activities of the warehouse team through an optimised operational structure, agreed job descriptions and established measures of success
  • On a daily basis analyse operational execution results, understand the reason for deviations and action corrective measures in a collaborative manner
  • Continuously develop and drive strategies in collaboration with all internal and external stakeholders to achieve all required performance indicators
  • In conjunction with the national optimisation team investigate and study leading edge solutions to further improve performance results and maximize customers service experience
  • Ensure adherence to OHS ACT, BCEA legislations and use the company’s disciplinary guidelines as a medium to drive improved results
  • Ensure that the company is professionally represented by its ambassadors (warehouse staff relevance) through training, dress code rules and other relevant interventions
  • Nurture a mature and motivated staff complement through continuous training and engagement forums, interacting with staff at all organisational levels
  • Build a collaborative relationship with the regional and national sales teams to ensure the relationship drive the company’s customer service objectives with a mature ability in finding the balance between customer service and a highly cost and efficiency driven environment
  • Build and maintain sustainable relationships with all customers to ensure warehouse efficiency measures and cost achievement results are at optimal levels
  • Manage and control warehouse cost through analysing daily, weekly and monthly performance measurements and management reports
  • Monitoring and management of product storage, and waste (losses, obsolescence, dumps, and related costs)
  • Ensure customer service excellence by storing and loading quality products through proper cold chain management.
  • General site maintenance and housekeeping
  • Statistically analyse movement per SKU to optimize storage location and warehouse utilization and –efficiencies
  • Conduct studies/review to improve overall operational efficiency
  • Develop and review standard operating procedures for your area
  • Ensure export requirements are met and non-conformances communicated
  • Ensure resupply stock are managed and order requirements are met
  • Ensure Assets are maintained and accounted for at all times
  • Assist in the successful roll out and management of the Parmalat ‘Continuous Improvement Programme

Required Skills

Diploma in Warehousing/Logistics/Supply Chain Management

• Have experience and knowledge of Supply Chain, Warehousing and Distribution management systems
• Have extensive experience in operating and maintaining a WMS system
• Knowledge of FMCG environment.
• Budget management and implementation
• MS Office Skills
• BPCS (advantageous)
• Accountability to accept mistakes and performance improvement required from within and not blame others
• Entrepreneurship in driving results within warehousing with personal pride
• Accessibility/modesty fitting for an employee within this Logistics function of a multi-national company
• Pragmatic approach towards execution of agreed principles
